The Operational Diagnostics focuses on multiple tactical opportunities, functions and metrics to develop value creation paths and identify how to optimize the performance of the entire organization.

The Enterprise Diagnostics focuses on strategic opportunities, corporate functions and metrics to optimize overall performance determine the root causes of success and support the building of internal capabilities in the organization to deliver results.

The process that is core to all Diagnostic activities:

1. Create Value Model by identifying stakeholders and their dimensions of value. These are ranked and weighted. Key success factors and performance indicators are identified for each performance dimension.
2. Create Value Paths that optimize the contribution of the initiatives within a transportation strategy.
3. Calculate the Economics of the value paths by identifying and quantifying the capital investment, the returns and the business case for each initiative.
4. Develop a Performance Index to track and measure key transportation metrics of performance over time.
5. Assess the Infrastructure to determine implementation risk and organizational change requirements.
